Palm Springs rally ends peacefully

The Palm Springs No Kings rally has ended after around an hour and a half of speakers. Crowds slowly filed out of Sunrise Park after the last speaker concluded at 5:30 p.m.

Although speakers consistently criticized President Donald Trump and his policies, the energy at the event was largely positive.

People dressed up in colorful outfits like Teletubbies and unicorns. Some stopped at the sidewalk along Sunrise Way, where the horns of cars could be heard continuously.

After the sun dipped below the mountains, shade stretched across the park, cooling attendees.

Still, Cathedral City Mayor Nancy Ross said, "I don't remember it being this bad. It's been bad, but never this bad."
