MURRAY – Construction on the new training facility commissioned by the Murray-Calloway County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is making steady progress, and the organizations are aiming for the building to be operable by the spring.
Mark Manning, who is president of both the EDC and IDA, said the facility will serve local residents by preparing them to work in fields that are in high demand, such as plumbing and electrical work. Adams Construction won the bid for the project, which was budgeted at just under $2 million. The Calloway County Fiscal Court pledged $461,538 from the county’s share of Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in-lieu-of-tax payments, and Manning said Congressman James Comer was able to secure a $1.1 million grant for th
