September was a hot month for home sales in New York City, with one in four Brooklyn homes selling above asking, according to the latest StreetEasy report .

Six Brooklyn neighborhoods clocked in with the most home sales over asking, the report found. Homes sellers in Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, Crown Heights, Williamsburg and Sheepshead Bay found that there were enough buyers that competed to buy their homes. On the top range, Prospect Heights homeowners received 47% more than the asking price, while Sheepshead Bay residents got 20% more.
