Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has arrived at the White House for his first face-to-face meeting with United States President Donald Trump.
Mr Albanese touched down in Washington on Monday, local time, ahead of crucial talks with the President on trade and security, with the pair widely expected to discuss US tariffs and Australia's defence spending.
Australian industries have urged the Prime Minister to seek relief from the effects of tariffs on a range of products, including key exports like steel, aluminium and beef.
In addition, Mr Albanese is likely to pitch Australia's abundance of critical minerals as a potential solution to concerns over US supply driven by new export restrictions imposed by China.
