Wendal Houle died young. He grew up in the Lesser Slave Lake area with a large network of family and friends. He attended St. Andrew’s Catholic School in High Prairie, where he loved to play basketball. When school wasn’t in, he and his friends could be found at the local Sports Palace with its community nets, or anywhere they could find a hoop or something that could stand in for one. Houle developed strong relationships with his family, friends, and teammates. He was a father, and the people in his life loved him.
