The end of Week 6 means games are really starting to matter, Super Bowls are getting closer and teams are getting bigger and better performances from players each week.

While last weekend’s schedule was rather strange – with one game Thursday, nine on Friday and nine on Saturday – the play was exactly what you’d expect from teams this time of season. It was impossibly easy to find candidates for the Providence Journal Week 6 Player of the Week, but impossibly difficult to narrow the list to five.

We did our job and figure it out. We’ll leave who the winner should be up to you, our readers, and can only wish the best in trying to pick out the most worthy candidate.
