Srinagar, Oct 20: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Northern Command, visited forward areas in the Gurez, Machhal, and Keran sectors to review the operational preparedness of formations and celebrate Diwali with troops deployed along the Line of Control (LoC).

During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma interacted with personnel of all ranks, commending their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and exceptional state of readiness in some of the country’s most challenging operational environments.

An Army spokesperson said, “The Army Commander acknowledged the extreme hardships faced by troops operating in difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions, and emphasized the critical role they play in safeguarding India’s borders.”
