Staff of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation are encouraging supporters to remember the charity in estate planning, saying it’s a chance to leave a legacy of caring.

The reminder comes after the foundation received a bequest from the late Merrial Leslie. The county resident died March 15 at age 90 in the hospital she’d long supported. Born in Hamilton as Merrial Gibson, she had a successful 58-year career in real estate development in Toronto.

Back in 1961, she and her husband, Len, bought a former church on Big Island near Demorestville, transforming it into their home. Len died in 2005.
