Gov. Ned Lamont on Monday announced he is nominating four people to serve as commissioners of the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA).

The governor is nominating Thomas Wiehl, of Madison, as a commissioner and the chairperson, as well as Janice Beecher, of New Britain, Holly Cheeseman, of Niantic, and Everett Smith, of Greenwich, as commissioners.

The nominees will begin serving in an interim capacity until their nominations are forwarded to the Connecticut General Assembly when it convenes for the 2026 legislative session in February.
