The Alabama high school football regular season in the Montgomery area is coming near an end with the playoffs slated to start the first week of November.

With some of the Montgomery area teams sealing region titles in Week 8, Week 9 still offers an opportunity for some to find a way into the AHSAA playoffs. But there are always teams that stand above the rest.

Ahead of Week 9, Pike Road opens at the No. 1 spot on the Montgomery Advertiser's top 10 high school football teams in the Montgomery area. The Patriots claimed the Region 2-6A title in Week 8's thrashing off undefeated Russell County.
