Property owners and builders will see higher fees when requesting a land use or wetland and habitat reviews from Clark County’s Community Development department in 2026. The county council unanimously approved a new fee structure Tuesday.

Chad Dragon, finance manager for the department, said land use fees are increasing by about 2 percent, while wetland and habitat review fees are going up by an average of 3 percent. The increases are expected to generate an additional $50,000 in revenue annually.

He told the council the increases are needed to cover the department’s costs.

“The department is mostly funded by fees. Best practices in our county code would dictate that we charge fees that would cover the cost of providing service,” Dragon said.
