East Lansing — Urgency is of the essence in East Lansing for the football program, and the pressure is on head coach Jonathan Smith heading into one of the biggest games of the season.

Michigan State (3-4, 0-4 Big Ten) is coming off of a rough loss against the now No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers, falling 38-13 at Memorial Stadium. The first half showed flashes of adjustments coming into the game, only trailing by a touchdown. However, the second half seemed to showcase the underwhelming Spartan team of the previous three weeks.
