KENTUCKY (KFVS) - Kentucky is moving around money to make sure some people have something to eat during the government shutdown.
According to a news release from Governor Andy Beshear’s Office, the state is reallocating $9.1 million to fund a senior meal program.
The governor also says the state will cover the cost of the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families’ program through the month of November.
However, the governor could not promise the state would be able to do the same thing in November.
As for the 600,000 Kentuckians who reply on SNAP benefits, Beshear said the November payouts will be processed as soon as the government shutdown comes to an end.
