Clement, the Blue Jays' breakout infielder, went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two runs scored in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series on Sunday, sparking sparked a 6–2 win over the Seattle Mariners to force a winner-take-all Game 7 on Monday night in Toronto.
“We’re the best defensive team in baseball,” Clement told FOX analyst John Smoltz after the win. “I’ve said it all year. We take care of the baseball and when our pitchers are making pitches like that it makes our job easy.”
