The Baltimore Ravens are desperate for a key piece of their flock to return.
After missing the last two games with a hamstring injury, the Ravens are hopeful that Lamar Jackson will be back on the field in the near future.
The timeline has been anything but clear for the quarterback, who exited Baltimore's Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs with the hamstring issue. It was a fairly muted departure for Jackson, with no clear sign of injury. He was there one moment and gone the next.
The Ravens, and their fans, were hoping for a magical ride this season – one with Super Bowl expectations. Now at 1-5 and no clarity on Jackson's return, those high hopes were there one moment and could be gone the next – if their quarterback isn't back soon.
All eyes are on the injury reports this week as the Ravens get ready for their Week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Here is the latest on Jackson.
Lamar Jackson injury update
Jackson didn't participate in practice on Monday, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley.
It was Baltimore's first practice coming out of their bye week, meaning the quarterback's absence is certainly less than ideal. Jackson hasn't played since Sept. 28 in Kansas City, when he injured his hamstring against the Chiefs.
Official practice reports don't come out until Wednesday, meaning there is plenty of time for Jackson to get back on the field.
Considering he was listed as a non-participant for the two weeks heading into the bye, the Ravens will want to see their star get some reps before playing in another game.
Ravens QB depth chart
- Lamar Jackson (injured)
- Cooper Rush
- Tyler Huntley (practice squad)
Rush started each of the two games without Jackson so far, but the team has been outscored 61-13 in those two contests.
Baltimore's defense has been another problem, but having its star quarterback could go a long way in relieving some of those issues.
