INDIANAPOLIS — IU LAB and Plug and Play , a venture capitalist company, wants to transform bioscience investing in startups here in Indiana and across the world.

With 12 startups chosen for its new cohort, innovation in health is underway, including Intero Biosystems, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

"We make miniature human organs for preclinical testing, so anything that you test on animals – like chemicals or drugs or food –you can test on our organs instead of using animals and get a more human-relevant response," Intero Biosystems Founder and CEO Charlie Childs said.

A few weeks ago, Childs pitched her business to IU and Plug and Play. With the support from IU and Plug and Play, Childs says the opportunity will take her business to the next level.
