WOODRIDGE – Joan Collins, the mayor of the Village of Woodridge, has died.

She passed away on Sunday at the of age 69, said village attorney Jeffrey Kaplan, who said she had suffered from medical issues.

“Mayor Collins was an excellent mayor. Always had the village as her primary concern. I worked with her for many years,” he said.

Kaplan said aside from working with her as village attorney, he considered her a close friend.
