PORTALES, N.M. (KFDA) - The Portales Police Department says an arrest warrant has been issued for a man after a crash on Saturday left a woman dead.

Police say on Saturday around 8 a.m., officers responded to the area of 1st and Chicago on a crash involving two vehicles with injuries.

All occupants in both vehicles were taken to Roosevelt General Hospital for their injuries.

Police say 60-year-old Monica Diaz of Portales later died of her injuries at the hospital.

The driver, 25-year-old Sebastian Torres Gonzales of Portales, was taken to a Lubbock area hospital for his injuries.

Police say Torres was driving southbound on Chicago at a high rate of speed and cross over the median, resulting in the crash.
