RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A new mural has found its way on the side of Richmond's Ellewood Thompson's Market, raising awareness of fair trade and sustainable supply chains.
The new mural depicts a cocoa farmer which comes just in time for free Fairtrade Month "an opportunity to highlight the role we all have to play in creating a world that puts people and the planet over profits," stated a spokesperson for Fairtrade America.
Similar murals were placed at different locations in 2024 as part of a ethical sourcing campaign that focused on celebrating "the ethical sourcing of coffee and cocoa."
Richmond's mural was one of three completed in part of Fair Trade America's campaign.
