JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KFVS) - With her hand on the Bible, Catherine Hanaway makes a promise to Missouri, one that she said she will keep for a while.
Missouri’s new attorney general swore into office in a formal ceremony Monday morning. The St. Louis-area attorney and former state lawmaker is the first woman to hold the title of Missouri Attorney General . Hanaway also marks the first major appointment of Governor Mike Kehoe’s tenure.
“We need somebody who’s gonna deliver results, Catherine Hanaway is going to deliver results,” Kehoe said.
When she accepted Kehoe’s nomination, Hanaway said she does plan to run for a full term after completing this one . Kehoe said her willingness to stay and serve Missouri was a consideration for the appointment.
