GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro family is now searching for a safe and affordable place to live after a local hotel shut down last week following city officials’ claims it had become a hub for criminal activity.
Andi Fox, her partner, and their three children had been staying at the Howard Johnson on Veasley Street for the past few months. They chose the hotel for its low rates, proximity to their children’s school and Andi’s work.
“I make good money, it’s just the state of the economy has gone downhill. That’s really where I’m stuck at trying to get back on my feet,” Andi said.
Aside from recent police raids, the family had little indication the hotel would be closed down. They were given little time to find new living arrangements.
