Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels avoided a long-term absence for a right hamstring injury, an MRI showed Monday, but Commanders coach Dan Quinn is uncertain he will be ready for Monday’s NFL game against Kansas City.
Daniels, a 24-year-old passer who was last year’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, was hurt in Sunday’s 44-22 loss at Dallas when his right leg twisted awkwardly as he was sacked by Cowboys linebacker Shemar James in the third quarter.
“Good news. Not significant or long term,” Quinn said of the Daniels injury. “I don’t know the status for Monday night just yet. I’ll have a better sense as we get closer to it.
“Not a long-term thing but I just can’t answer tonight where I’m at with the game being Monday. I’ll have a better feel when we get to Thursday.”
