A 27-year-old man is accused of killing a woman found dead inside a Vancouver hotel room last week.

Joseph M. Uriarte appeared Monday in Clark County Superior Court on allegations of second-degree murder. A judge ordered that he be held without bail. Uriarte is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.

Just before 11:30 a.m. Oct. 15, staff at Studio 6 Suites, 601 Broadway, discovered blood throughout a hotel room and immediately contacted law enforcement, according to a statement from the Vancouver Police Department.

Officers responded and found Kammy Lyn Pollack, 51, dead inside the room. A preliminary investigation suggests Pollack sustained injuries consistent with a physical assault while inside the room, according to authorities.
