EVANSVILLE – An Evansville man faces multiple felony charges after police say he struck and seriously injured a young child Sunday evening before fleeing the scene.

Michael Robert Pease, 49, has been preliminarily charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, a Level 3 felony; operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with serious bodily injury, a Level 5 felony; and multiple other felony and misdemeanor charges, including criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and possession of methamphetamine with a prior conviction.
