PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Despite the ongoing government shutdown, open enrollment for medicare is underway.
According to the Center for Medicare Services (CMS), the shutdown will not affect enrolling in government health services.
However, AZ Public Health Association Executive Director Will Humble, said it may affect how you access information.
“Where the delays come in and the frustrations will come in, are those folks who have questions about their medicare enrollment and try to call the call center or try to call in medicare.gov and they get a long wait or supposed to do a callback because a lot fo those folks are on furlough,” Humble said.
