The Atlanta Hawks and guard Dyson Daniels have agreed to a four-year, $100 million rookie contract extension, per agent Daniel Moldovan of Lighthouse Sports Management. Daniels, most recently earning the NBA’s Most Improved Player of the Year award as well as being named to the NBA’s All-Defensive team, was the runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year and finished last season with 229 steals – the most in a season since Gary Payton in 1995-96.
The 22-year-old averaged 14.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists last season, all being career highs. Daniels also averaged three steals a season ago, being the first player to do so since Alvin Robertson in 1990-91. The Hawks acquired Daniels and a first-round pick from the New Orlean
