McDonald's "Boo Buckets" will return on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

A fall favorite has made its official return.

McDonald's "Boo Buckets," a storied tradition since 1986, are now available for purchase at participating restaurants, while supplies last.

The decorative pails, designed to replace the classic "Happy Meal" box, have made occasional returns since their launch.

"Boo Buckets" aka the "spookiest pails of the szn" feature three classic characters – Ghost, Pumpkin and Goblin – along with two new characters, Cat and Zombie.

"Halloween buckets are popping up everywhere like ghosts in the night– and hey, imitation is the most BOO-tiful form of flattery," McDonald's said in a statement. "But let’s be real: there's only one OG Halloween bucket, and it comes with a Happy Meal."

What's inside a McDonald's 'Boo Bucket?'

In addition to a monster-themed decorative pail, "Boo Buckets" come with all of the traditional Happy Meal fixings and stickers to make them look "fa-boo-lous."

The primary appeal of "Boo Buckets" is that it also doubles as a trick-or-treating container.

McDonald's Halloween-themed buckets feature an assortment of monster characters, some old and some new, and come in five different colors, including white, orange, green, black and red.

Ghost, Pumpkin and Goblin, along with newbies Cat and Zombie, round out this year's lineup. Each monster character features three different expressions, allowing customers to collect each and every version.
