Met Office weather maps show snow is set to hit parts of the country before the end of the week. Maps and charts from the forecasting agency show temperatures could drop to as low as single figures.
The areas where snow is possible this weekend have been displayed in Met Office maps, with the white stuff anticipated from 10pm on Friday night.
Snowfall will continue into the early hours of Saturday morning, too. Areas at risk include central Scotland and swathes of the Highlands, while some flurries are possible in North Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and high areas of the North East, including elevated regions in Cumbria, Durham and Northumberland.
