A fire that broke out near the heart of Worcester on Monday night has left crews still on the scene after 12 hours.

The fire broke out at around 8 p.m. at 821 Main St. according to the Auburn Fire Rescue Department . The location is listed as a commercial strip building that houses several businesses like a pizza shop and hair salon.

Firefighters were ordered out of the building at some point during the blaze when there was a partial floor collapse, WHDH reported. No injuries were reported but by 9 p.m., a third alarm was struck.

Crews were still on the scene as of 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, according to the Worcester Police Department . The public was advised to avoid the scene, from the areas of May to O’Read streets.
