DALLAS — Medicare open enrollment is back. And it can be confusing, so let’s start super simple.

Open enrollment is now to December 7th, unless you turn 65 after that and before the next open enrollment period, explains Carl Burlbaw, the senior insurance counselor at the Senior Source in Dallas, “You have your own special enrollment around your 65th birthday”. Now let’s get a little complicated: You can sign up right now for one of several options : There's Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan. Or you can switch between Advantage plans, or go from Original to Advantage, or go from Advantage to Original.
