SRINAGAR : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested a wanted man who had been evading arrest for the past seven years in Kulgam district, as part of an ongoing crackdown on absconders and proclaimed offenders. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp
Police identified the accused as Mohammad Fareed Bajard, son of Mohammad Qasim, a resident of Gundah Khawas in Rajouri. He was wanted in connection with FIR No. 74/2018 registered under sections 323 and 354 of the Ranbir Penal Code at Police Station Yaripora.
Officials said Bajard had been on the run since 2018 to avoid arrest. Acting on specific intelligence, a police team traced his location and apprehended him after sustained efforts. Following legal formalities, he was produced before the court.
