For a man who has obliterated the career record for new lows, President Donald Trump’s decision to commute the sentence of George Santos is among the lowest ( “Speaker Johnson defends Trump’s decision to commute Santos sentencing,” Oct. 19).
It’s hard to recall a politician more deserving of punishment for his blatant betrayal of the public trust than former U.S. Rep. Santos. He misrepresented virtually every aspect of his credentials (or lack thereof) in campaigning for public office. His sham “fundraising” activities, even before he lied his way into office, showed what a feckless, incompetent, narcissistic excuse of a man he is.
