A taxi driver heated oil in a frying pan and hurled it a police officer. PC Christopher Bain suffered burns to his face and chest when he was attacked by Mohammed Sarfaraz.

PC Christopher Bain had entered the kitchen with his Taser drawn, having been warned of the potential threat Sarfaraz posed with the smoking pan. When Sarfaraz swung hot oil from the pan at him and his colleague, PC Bain suffered agonising burns.

After Sarfaraz, 45, of Kingston Park Road, Gosforth , Newcastle , was jailed, Northumbria Police released body worn camera footage of the incident, which happened at Sarfaraz's parents home.

It was on January 17 this year that police were looking for him and when they got to the Gosforth house, they saw his taxi parked outside. Sarfaraz was found by a female officer in
