Apple might soon allow you to undo one of iOS 26’s most controversial features — well, sort of.
In the latest iOS 26.1 beta 4 for developers, Apple is testing a new mode that effectively lets you turn off Liquid Glass. The feature, which debuted with the iPhone 17 series last month, is a translucent “glassmorphic” look that’s intended to make Apple’s UX “more expressive and delightful while being instantly familiar” across devices. However, it’s also drawn criticism for being illegible and lacking in contrast, with some even calling it “Liquid Ass.”
Therefore, it appears that Apple is going to give people some options. In the latest developer beta, users can select a new “Tinted” option that significantly darkens Liquid Glass.
