INDIANAPOLIS — The uncertainty surrounding Prema Racing ’s future in the NTT IndyCar Series has resulted in wide-ranging speculation about IndyCar ’s newest team.

Drivers Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman both have contracts to race with Prema in 2026, but the team’s financial situation is looking cloudy.

By not having one of the 25 charters granted to IndyCar teams that competed in the 2024 championship, Prema’s two entries that debuted in 2025 are ineligible for the Leaders Circle purse program that guarantees the top 22 chartered entrants in owner points well over $1 million dollars in funding throughout the season.
