SALISBURY — We are known as “the pumpkin church.”

That’s what the Rev. Jim Parsons, pastor of Milford United Methodist Church, located at 1630 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury said when sharing about the Pumpkins for Missions fundraiser that is taking place daily at the church through October.

This annual event has been taking place there since 1997 raising money for missions.

“So we are in our 28th year,” said Parsons, and “100 percent of the profits go to help our missions.”

He said their mission focus is based on Acts 1:8 which speaks about going into Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth and therefore
