Bida: At least 35 people have died after a fuel tanker overturned and exploded in Niger State, northern Nigeria, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred on October 21 when the tanker skidded off the road and spilled petrol, which ignited shortly after the crash.
The explosion happened in the Bida area as local residents rushed to collect leaking fuel. Seventeen others were injured and have been hospitalized.
Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident and identify the driver and owner of the tanker.
