MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Reta Corson of Wolfeboro celebrated her 102nd birthday on Sept. 14 and was honored as the town's oldest resident.

A New Hampshire native, Corson grew up on a farm in Hopkinton. During World War II, she worked at a factory in Springfield, Massachusetts, making airplane parts.

She moved to Wolfeboro in 1960 after marrying her husband, Guy.

The Wolfeboro Select Board presented her with the Boston Post Cane, a traditional honor for the town's oldest resident. Her father, Perley Barnard, also received the Boston Post Cane in 1989 at age 96.

Corson has three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all living in New Hampshire.
