Julia Kelly scored a pair of goals in the first half and fourth-seeded Metuchen held on for a 2-0 win over fifth-seeded Monroe in the quarterfinals of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament in Metuchen.

The Bulldogs (8-8) advanced to the semifinals against top-seeded Old Bridge, a team they lost to twice during the regular season.

Victoria De Sousa E Melo made 16 saves for Monroe (7-10-1).
