LUBBOCK — The Region I cross country meet continued Tuesday at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
After a handful of teams and runners from the Texas Panhandle punched their ticket to the UIL State Cross Country meet on Monday, another contingent from the Amarillo area qualified on the second day of the event.
In Class 2A, Gruver won both races as the Greyhounds girls reached state for the eighth consecutive season and won the team's first regional title since 2019. The boys team qualified for state for the first time in school history, taking home a regional title in the process.
