Russian deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov said he sees no obstacles to a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin and that preparations for the proposed summit in Budapest continue.

Ryabkov's comments were reported by the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti and come after the White House postponed the Putin summit, which Trump had originally said would happen within a couple of weeks.

The postponement followed a call between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“We are saying that preparations for the summit are ongoing. They can take various forms,” Ryabkov said, originally in Russian, RIA reported.
