The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to escalate the trophy handover issue with the International Cricket Council (ICC). A top BCCI source told India Today that, with the ACC chief remaining adamant, the board plans to raise the matter at the upcoming ICC meeting.
“We will not accept his response regarding the trophy handover,” the source said.
The ICC board meeting, scheduled from December 4 to 7 in Dubai, will be the platform to discuss the issue in detail.
According to the BCCI, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who’s also the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief, had stated that the trophy could be collected from the Dubai office, with a BCCI official and a player allowed to collect it from the ACC chief.
