A massive fire broke out at Bhubaneswar’s Unit-I Market today, engulfing several shops and triggering panic among traders and shoppers.

The blaze reportedly started in a grocery shop and quickly spread to adjacent stores. Within minutes, four to five shops were gutted, destroying goods worth lakhs of rupees. Thick smoke and flames disrupted business and forced people to flee the area.

Firefighters arrived promptly and launched a full-scale operation to control the fire. Their swift action prevented further damage and helped secure the crowded commercial zone.

No casualties have been reported so far, but traders suffered significant financial losses. Many watched helplessly as their inventories turned to ashes.
