BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A man from Massachusetts is accused of falling asleep at the wheel and causing a three-vehicle crash in Bangor.

Bangor police say 40-year-old Seth McLaughlin of Lawrence, Massachusetts was on the Griffin Road Sunday, October 19 when he ran a red light, hitting a vehicle traveling through the intersection with Ohio Street. That crash propelled the vehicle into a third car stopped at the intersection.

McLaughlin reportedly told police he had been awake since the early morning, and was taking his two children, back to their mother’s house.

Police discovered McLaughlin was out on bail at the time of the crash, and his license was suspended. McLaughlin was arrested and taken to jail.

Two people in the third vehicle were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. E
