MCLEAN COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - A Downs teenager was driving drunk and weaving in and out of lanes before causing a deadly head-on crash on Saturday, prosecutors said in a court document.
The crash on Route 150 killed Alice Fulks, 71, from Downs, according to the McLean County Coroner’s Office, which determined she died from multiple blunt force injuries.
Monday, McLean County prosecutors charged Caleb Lawson, 18, with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
In a probable cause statement presented to the court, prosecutors said witnesses saw Lawson driving erratically and well over the speed limit, weaving in and out of lanes, and passing in no-passing zones.
