KINGSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- On Friday, an Ulster Park woman admitted to changing records while employed as a Saugerties Town Court Clerk. According to the Ulster County District Attorney's Office, Haley Whalen, 27, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of first-degree tampering with public records.
Officials said Whalen used her position to access and dismiss charges against at least one person who she had a personal relationship with.
Whalen was arrested in February 2024 after troopers received a tip that she was unofficially using her credentials to dismiss tickets for people she knew. She was initially charged with four counts of falsifying business records, four counts of tampering with public records, four counts of misconduct and four counts of criminal contempt.
