MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) - A license plate reader alert to a stolen car led officers to a young trio of shoplifters in Mt. Juliet on Tuesday night.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department reported that the city’s security camera network, called “Guardian Shield,” notified officers of a 2018 Hyundai Elantra as it entered the city on Central Pike.

Three teens are in custody after traveling to Mt. Juliet in a stolen vehicle and shoplifting from Academy Sports.
