SC Gives MP High Court 4 Months to Implement Ruling on Judicial Jobs for Visually Impaired

The Supreme Court has granted four months to the Madhya Pradesh High Court to implement its judgment earlier this year which held that visually impaired persons cannot be denied the opportunity of employment in judicial services. A bench of justices JB Pardiwala and KV Viswanathan noted the submission of the counsel appearing for the Madhya Pradesh High Court that it was in the process of finalising the rules in consultation with the state government and grated four months to report compliance. In a land mark judgement in March this year the supreme court had struck down provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Judicial Service Rules that excluded visually impaired persons from the judicial services.
