NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Get ready to enjoy an extra hour of sleep when daylight saving time ends next month.
On Nov. 2 at 2 a.m., we will fall back an hour as part of the biannual changing of the clocks. For the remainder of the fall and winter, there will be more sunlight in the morning but earlier sunsets in the evening.
Daylight Saving Time will begin again on March 8, 2026, when clocks will spring forward, allowing for more sunlight in the evenings.
The United States adopted daylight saving time with the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which went into effect in 2007, according to the Farmers' Almanac. In January 2025, the Sunshine Protection Act was introduced in the House of Representatives to enact permanent daylight saving time.
