ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Olmsted County Board of Commissioners approved a temporary local support measure Tuesday to aid residents potentially losing federal food assistance due to the ongoing government shutdown.
The board agreed to donate up to $200,000 to Channel One Food Bank. This funding aims to provide food and infant formula to those affected by the suspension of federal benefits such as SNAP, Minnesota Family Investment Program, and WIC in November.
